Nickel plating

Elevate Performance with Our Superior Nickel Plating Solutions.

What is Nickel Plating?

Nickel plating is an electrochemical process that deposits a layer of nickel onto the surface of metal components. This coating not only offers a stunning aesthetic finish but also significantly improves the part’s resistance to corrosion, friction, and abrasion. Nickel plating is ideal for various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing, where component longevity and reliability are paramount.

Our In-House Furnace Process

Here’s a detailed overview of our nickel plating process:

Comprehensive Surface Preparation: We begin with meticulous cleaning of the cast parts to ensure optimal adhesion. This step may involve various methods, including ultrasonic cleaning, sandblasting, or chemical degreasing. By removing oils, dirt, and oxidation, we prepare the surface to create a strong bond with the nickel layer.

Pre-Coating Inspection: Each part undergoes a thorough inspection to identify any surface imperfections or defects. This allows us to customize our approach and ensure that each component is primed for successful plating.

Electrolytic Nickel Plating: The cleaned parts are then immersed in an electrolytic nickel plating bath. Here, an electrical current facilitates the deposition of nickel ions onto the surface of the components. Our precise control over plating parameters, such as temperature and current density, ensures a uniform and durable nickel layer. The thickness of the nickel coating can be tailored to meet specific requirements, often ranging from a few microns to several hundred microns, depending on the application.

Controlled Curing: After plating, the components may be subjected to a controlled curing process in our furnace. This step enhances the coating's hardness and adhesion, reducing the likelihood of chipping or flaking during service.

Post-Coating Treatments: To further enhance corrosion resistance and surface properties, we may apply additional treatments, such as passivation or the application of a protective topcoat. These treatments can provide further protection against oxidation and wear.

Rigorous Quality Control: Every plated part is subjected to stringent quality checks. We assess coating thickness, inspect for uniformity, and conduct adhesion tests to ensure compliance with industry standards. Only those that pass our high-quality criteria are approved for delivery.

Benefits of Nickel Plating for Cast Parts

Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: Nickel plating creates a robust barrier against moisture and corrosive elements, significantly extending the lifespan of your casted parts.

Enhanced Wear Resistance: The hardness of nickel provides excellent protection against abrasion, making it ideal for components that experience high friction or impact.

Aesthetic Appeal: Nickel plating imparts a bright, reflective finish that enhances the appearance of your components, adding value while also simplifying maintenance.
